Teganya is a normal savings account that is linked to the current account of the customer. You can save your money any time, as many times as you want and as much money as you want.


What it takes to operate this account:

  • Any Cogebanque customer may hold a Teganya Savings account
  • The bank starts to give you interest when the account has FRW 50,001 and above

    Benefits:

  • Your savings generate interest.
  • There is no account monthly maintenance fee.
  • You can save any time you want and the account generates interest depending on the amount of money you saved

Nteganyiriza Minuze is an account that COGEBANQUE set with the purpose of facilitating its clients to save for their children’s education in order to prepare them for a good future.


What it takes to operate this account:

  • Any COGEBANQUE customer may hold a Nteganyiriza Minuze Savings account.
  • You can always save more money on this account for other purposes whenever you want, but the bank starts to give you interest from FRW 50.001

Benefits:

  • You save money on a monthly basis but you can increase the amount of money you save whenever you want.
  • There is no monthly maintenance fee linked to this account.

Iyubakire is an account that enables you to save when you want to build, buy or renovate your house in the future.


What it takes to operate this account:


  • Any major and capable individual may hold a Iyubakire Savings account
  • When you open this account, you deposit FRW 35,000 as the basis of saving your money
  • You are required to save at least FRW 15,000 every month

Benefits:


  • There is no maintenance fee linked to this account.
  • You are allowed to save more than the required basis.
  • This account gives you the possibility to receive a House loan at a lower interest rate than the current.
  • After four years of saving on this «IYUBAKIRE» account, you get the opportunity to receive a reduction on COGEBANQUE Mortgage.

Shobora is a savings account that helps you to implement any project that you may have in mind be it either to buy house items, arranging ceremonies, buying a car and/or any other project.


What it takes to operate this account:


  • Any major and capable individual may hold a Shobora Savings account.
  • When you open this account, you deposit FRW 15,000 as your saving base fee.
  • Every month you are required to save at least FRW 10,000
  • Other free additional saving deposits are allowed.

Benefits:


  • There is no maintenance fee linked to this account.
  • After saving for three years on «SHOBORA» account you get a discounted interest on any project loan in Cogebanque.

Required documents

  • Two Passport photographs showing full face forward with a bright background.
  • Valid Proof of Identification of the signatory – Driver’s License or International Passport (bio data page), Residence Permit, or Work Permit.
  • Proof of Foreign Address as stated in the forms. For example;
    • Current utility bill not exceeding 3 months
    • Foreign Bank statement
    • Foreign driver’s license
    • Purchase invoice
    • Tenancy agreement/rent receipt
  • Proof of Income sources e.g. letter from the Employer, last 6 months’ pay slips.
  • A supporting Rwandan address / contact.
  • A Rwandan reference from an I&M Bank Rwanda account holder.
